James Dahl & the Me262
The Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a, nicknamed Swallow (Schwalbe), was put into service by the German Luftwaffe in April 1944 as the world's first operational jet fighter. As a pioneering jet aircraft, it was one of the most advanced war planes of the second world war. It was faster and more heavily armed than any allied fighter. Regardless of the aircraft's advantages the plane was vulnerable during take off and landing. Poor reliability, dwindling fuel reserves and the chaos of late war Germany also limited the effectiveness of the aircraft. In total roughly 1,430 were produced, responsible for destroying 542 allied planes, and losing roughly 190. (1945)

Edward Lucas & The Goliath
The Goliath (Leichter Ladungsträger Goliath) was a disposable demolition vehicle that carried 60 or 100 kilograms of high explosive. It was controlled by a 650 meter long cable connected to a joy stick control box. While 7,564 units were produced it is widely considered a failure due to its fragility and poor mobility in the field, as well as the high price-tag to produce.
